IP Warriors 13 Rosthern Wheat Kings 8

The IP Warriors defeated Rosthern on Thursday night at the Wakaw Arena.  Logan Gareau led the way on the scoresheet with his 3 goals.  The Warriors received strong efforts throughout the entire lineup, Halle Gaudry stood out among the coaches and fans as a huge contributer to the Warriors success. 

Wednesday, February 1st Recap

Three Wakaw Warrior teams were in action on Wednesday night.  All three games were the regular season finale for the respective clubs.

The Novice Warriors fell to Rosthern 8 - 5 to finish their season with a 6 -6 - 2 record. Julia Frie chipped in with a goal for the Warriors.

The Atom Warriors finished with a bang by defeating Beardy's 20 - 0 in their last game to finish with a 7 - 8 - 1 record.  The Warriors received help on the scoresheet from Gregory Frie, who recorded a hat trick, and Olivia Jacobson and Tyler Skoworodko, who each scored a pair of goals.

The PeeWee Warriors lost to Dalmeny in a good physical game. Dalmeny received strong goaltending as Wakaw were shutout despite recording 25 shots on goal.  The Warriors gutted out this game with only 8 skaters.  The Warriors record for the regular season is     4 - 10 - 2.

Tough Night for Wakaw Hockey

The PeeWee, Atom, and Novice Warriors all lost their respective games on Monday night.  

The PeeWee Warriors dropped a very close decision to Rosthern 4 - 3 at the Wakaw Arena, the winning goal was scored with less than 1 minute to go in the third period.  Wakaw was lead offensively by Kyle Michayluk, who scored a pair, and Mathew Stan, who helped set up all 3 goals.

The Atom Warriors also dropped a close game to the Cudworth Stars while playing in Cudworth.  The Warriors split the season series with the Stars, with a chance to meet in the playoffs.  

The Novice club travelled to Dalmeny and fell to the first ranked team in the league. The Novice Warriors got goals from Bradley Hilkewich, Seth Hadlow, Alex Trumier.

Wakaw Hockey has a chance to rebound from this tough night as all 3 of these teams return to action on Wednesday night.

IP Warriors Split Their Two Games in St. Brieux

The IP Warriors lost their first game on Saturday to St. Brieux in a nailbiter 8 - 7.  Logan Gareau and Michael Burechailo each recorded hat tricks while Connor Oleksyn added a goal.  The Warriors won their second and last game of the day 11 - 7.  Contributing offensively were Noah Skoworodko & Trey Parenteau, each scoring a pair while Shaun Thibault added a lone tally.  

IP Warriors Fall to the Cudworth Stars

The IP Warriors lost to the Cudworth Stars 7 - 3 Thursday Night at the Wakaw Arena.  The loss drops the Warriors to a record of 6 wins and 2 losses on the year.  The only 2 losses have come at the hands of the Stars.  Michael Burechailo lead the way offensively for the Warriors with a pair of goals.  The Warriors travel to St. Brieux this Saturday for a one day tournament. 

Atom Warriors Swept by Hague

The Atom Warriors lost 5 - 3 in Hague on Thursday night.  The game was close throughout and tied at 2 entering the 3rd period.  Hague took control in the third on a few lucky chances and took both games of the home-and-home series.  The Warriors had strong games from Jaedyn Rudichuk and Kennedy Oleksyn on defence and Gregory Frie at forward.  Tanner Pipchuk also blasted home a point shot to begin the Warrior scoring.

Novice Warriors Tie Cudworth 6 - 6

The Novice Warriors and Cudworth Stars played a close, exciting game last night at the Wakaw Arena.  The offensive charge was lead by Bradley Hilkewich and Seth Hadlow, each recording hat tricks.  Julia Frie put in a solid effort in goal for the Warriors.

Atom Warriors Lose first of Home & Home vs. Hague

The Atom Warriors fell to Hague 4 - 1 Tuesday at the Wakaw Arena.  The Warriors took the lead early, on a goal by Benjamin Peterson, who tapped in a Sam Gareau rebound, but the team could not hang on as Hague scored 4 unanswered goals.  The Warriors will travel to Hague on Thursday night to try and exact their revenge.
